2026 Mason Bee Cocoons (PRE-ORDER)

Invite nature’s most efficient pollinators into your garden! Mason bees are gentle, solitary, and non-stinging native bees known for dramatically increasing fruit and vegetable set and flower yields. Peaceful by nature, they spend their short season focused entirely on gathering pollen and helping plants thrive. 

Each cocoon contains a dormant mason bee, patiently waiting for spring’s warmth. When placed near a clean bee house or nesting tubes, these bees emerge and quietly get to work. No maintenance required.

This package includes 20 dormant mason bee cocoons in a small cardboard container (plus a couple extras, as not all will survive to nest). Cocoons are shipped during dormancy and should be stored safely in the refrigerator upon arrival. In early spring, prepare your nesting site and ensure tubes or holes are clean and ready.

As temperatures rise, the bees will begin to emerge. Emergence may take several hours or a couple weeks. Males emerge first, followed by females, who will soon begin nesting and pollinating.

What do I need? We recommend purchasing a Mason Bee Chalet and Mason Bee Clay. By providing a house, the holes are calibrated exactly the right size, allowing you to harvest the next generation of cocoons in the fall! Also gives you better odds of keeping your bees in your own garden.
